Search for missing young Cuban woman intensifies in Havana
The young woman went out to a party on December 14th and since then her family hasn't heard from her.
Up until the last hours of this Wednesday, the young Karildi Marín, who has been missing in Havana since December 14th, had not been located by her relatives.
“To all those who, in one way or another, write to me worried, friends and relatives, my sister has not yet appeared. We spent the whole day searching for her around Cerro and the surroundings and still nothing,” wrote on social media Yoandri Marín, the brother of the young woman.
“I just got home right now with a headache and hunger. Without eating anything all day searching for her… If you hear anything please let me know. Any support is accepted in terms of information about her whereabouts… Call me at any time my phone: 54291630… Thanks for the help,” he concluded.
In his post Marín detailed that there are two police units informed about the disappearance: the one at Capri and the one at Cerro, although he did not specify if either of the two had directly been involved in the search.
In another previous post, Marín explained that he had received a phone call from someone who told him that they had seen her in the La Lechera area, in El Cerro.
The announcement that the young woman had been seen more than once in recent days has somewhat confused many netizens, who are beginning to wonder if it could be a voluntary disappearance, something that, for the moment, the brother of the young woman has not openly included as a possibility in his posts.
It was this Tuesday that Yoandri Marín made the case known.
“My sister left on Thursday night to a party, I think around El Cerro and until today she has not sent a message nor made a call and we are all very worried because it is not like her to be without calling us for so many days and with a little girl that she has, even less,” he wrote on Facebook.
The man earnestly requested that the young woman’s friends or anyone with any information contact him on the phone 54291630.
“They say she was seen two days ago by the Esquina de Tejas. They also saw her by El Cerro,” specified Yoandri Marín, who did not provide further details about the origin of such statements.
The complainant also did not give details regarding the age or the clothing that the young woman was wearing when she left her home for the last time.
Reports of missing Cubans have become more frequent in recent months, as well as the posting of requests for help through social networks to obtain information, amid a context of increasing violence in the country.
In recent days Daylenis Castillo Santana, a Cuban mother who had been missing for a week in Manzanillo, in the Granma province, was found safe and sound, as updated on social networks by one of the people who reported her disappearance.
One of the most publicized cases in recent weeks was that of Yamilet de Jesús Domínguez Torres, a 36-year-old Cuban woman who had been missing in Banes - in the province of Holguín - since November 24th until December 13th, the date on which, unfortunately, her dead body was found in her own home.
